Our Home ("we", "us", "the app") is a family organization dashboard. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
When you use Our Home, we collect and store the following information:
- Account information: Your email address and name, used to identify your account.
- Family data: Calendar events, chores, lists, meals, and photos that you create within the app.
- Device settings: Display preferences, notification preferences, and integration configurations.
Google Calendar Integration
If you choose to connect a Google account, Our Home requests read-only access to your Google Calendar data. Specifically:
- We request the
calendar.readonlyscope to display your calendar events within the dashboard. - Google Calendar data is fetched in real time and is not stored on our servers. It is only displayed in your browser session.
- OAuth tokens (access and refresh tokens) are stored locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- You can disconnect your Google account at any time from the Settings page, which revokes access and deletes stored tokens.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the family dashboard features you use.
- To sync data across your family's devices in real time.
- To authenticate your identity and manage access to your family's data.
We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on a self-hosted Appwrite instance. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), authentication tokens, and access controls to protect your data.
Sensitive credentials (API keys, OAuth tokens) are stored locally on your device and are not synced to the server.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below.
Children's Privacy
Our Home is a family app that may be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. Child accounts are created and managed by the family administrator.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Disconnect third-party integrations (Google Calendar, Immich) at any time.
- Request a copy of your data.
- Delete your account entirely.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
